What is Zakat ul Fitr?
Zakat ul Fitr is an obligatory contribution that every Muslim must pay before the Eid prayer. It enables those in need to celebrate Eid al-Fitr together with the community.
It is paid for every family member – including children and newborns. The amount is based on the value of a meal (approx. 2.5 kg of staple food) and in our project countries is €5 per person.
Zakat ul Fitr purifies the fast from possible shortcomings and ensures that no one has to go hungry on Eid.

We ensure that your contribution reaches those in need before the Eid prayer – as prescribed by the Sunnah.
When must Zakat ul Fitr be paid?
Zakat ul Fitr must be paid before the Eid prayer . It is recommended to pay it during the final days of Ramadan so that it can be distributed in time.
If it is paid after the Eid prayer, it is considered merely Sadaqa (a voluntary donation), rather than an obligatory contribution.
To ensure that your Fitrana reaches those in need on time, we recommend that you pay it early.
