Water is a fundamental human right.

Every year, 3.5 million people die from the effects of contaminated water. Yet clean water is a fundamental human right – it not only ensures survival but also forms the basis for health, nutrition and development.

Yet more than 2 billion people worldwide – one in four people – still lack access to clean drinking water. Almost as many live without toilets or basic sanitation.

    Why water is so vital

Access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene affects everything:

    • Health – fewer illnesses, lower child mortality
    • Food security – better access to nutrients and hygiene
    • Education – children no longer have to spend hours fetching water
    • Economic stability – those who are healthy can work and provide for their families

Contaminated water does more than cause illness – it traps entire villages in poverty. People weakened by chronic illness are often no longer able to work, losing the means to feed their families. A well can change that.

    Help fund a well

With just €10, you can help fund a well. Your donation goes into a well fund – as soon as it is fully funded, we begin construction.

We currently offer three highly efficient well options that have proven particularly sustainable.

For larger projects – such as solar-powered wells that can supply up to 4,000 people – we will be happy to advise you personally.
