This year, we once again accepted Kurban donations to help those in need in Togo and Tanzania enjoy a joyful celebration. With your donations, we achieved the following:
- 6,000 kg Goat meat distributed (400 goats)
- 20,832 kg Mutton distributed (868 sheep)
- Total 26,832 kg of meat – equivalent to 89,440 meals
What is Kurban?
Kurban (Arabic: Udhiya) refers to the sacrifice of an animal for the festival (Eid al-Adha). It is an obligation (Wajib) for every Muslim who is financially able to fulfil it.
The meat is traditionally divided into three portions : one third for one's own family, one third for relatives and neighbours, and one third for those in need and living in poverty.
World of Peace ensures that your Kurban is slaughtered properly and that the meat is distributed to families in need in crisis-affected regions.
