Swalha Orphanage

Swalha Orphanage in Gazi [Kenya] is at the heart of our work. It is home to 119 children, 78 of whom live there permanently. When we began our work, the situation was dire: walls at risk of collapse, broken beds without mattresses, exposed electrical wiring – and children who went hungry for days.

Many of them were physically weak and far behind in school. They lacked food, safety and care.

Your donations provide the children with regular meals, medical care and access to education. Alongside classroom learning, we also support sports, psychosocial care and vocational training – helping them develop courage and self-confidence.

One staff member recalls: “When we asked the children what they wanted most, they said: ‘Soap.'"

This shows just how severe their hardship was – and why our help remains so important.

Anoor Orphanage

Anoor Orphanage in Tiwi Ward [Kwale County] is home to 92 orphans under the care of a dedicated married couple. Yet their situation remains difficult: there is no regular funding, and there is often not enough food for everyone. During the hot season, the well dries up, leaving the children thirsty.

Your support provides regular food supplies, hygiene products and covers operating costs such as electricity and medical care. One important goal is to build a kitchen, as there is currently no place to prepare meals hygienically and safely, and to improve the water supply.

Goal: Reliable basic care and stable structures for a life of dignity.

Fatma Orphanage

The Fatma Centre in Banga [Kenya] was founded two years ago by Omari Abubakar and his family. It is home to 47 children, 37 of whom have lost both parents. They receive care and an education here.

Yet the centre struggles to survive each day: food, hygiene products and medical care are scarce. Without regular support, the children depend on occasional donations.

We support the Fatma Centre with food, hygiene products and ongoing costs so that the children can have a safe and stable environment – free from hunger and fear.

Goal: Give the children a secure foundation on which to build their lives.

More Than Just a Roof Over Their Heads

Education & Schooling

The children are taught right at the orphanage by teachers we have carefully selected. This allows us to ensure both the quality of education and the children's well-being.

Medical Care

The orphanages have their own facilities with medical supplies, allowing minor ailments to be treated and first aid to be provided on site.

Sports & Recreation

From games and fun to football and self-defence—we offer the children a wide range of ways to enjoy their time outside the classroom and make friends.
