Fidya and Kaffara

Fidya and Kaffara are forms of compensation that often raise questions about how they should be fulfilled. To make this easier, we offer to distribute them on your behalf to people in need, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most.

Fidya

Fidya is compensation for missed days of fasting during Ramadan when they cannot be made up for legitimate reasons, such as illness or long-term health conditions.

Kaffara

Kaffara is compensation required when a fast is deliberately broken or an oath is not kept. Please note that Kaffara should be accompanied by sincere repentance, as simply making the payment is not considered sufficient.

Our 1 Million Smiles project

In May 2025, we launched the "1 Million Smiles" project. It is a cooking initiative run at our kindergarten and primary school in Kenya.

Your donations help provide these meals.

•Fresh meals are prepared for the pupils every Tuesday and Thursday
•More than 3,000 meals have been prepared so far
•Around 320 meals are served at each cooking event

…are used specifically to provide meals in regions facing the greatest need.

Meals are always distributed where the need is greatest – whether in orphanages, school canteens in impoverished villages, or communities affected by crises and hunger.

Your support ensures that people in need – especially children – regularly receive a nutritious meal.

In some projects, your donations help children return to school – opening up a path out of poverty. In others, they provide essential support for families who have lost everything.
